How to Convert HEIC to JPG

If you have emailed an iPhone photo that the other person could not open, you have met HEIC. Apple saves photos as HEIC to keep files small, but many sites and apps still expect JPG.

What is HEIC?

HEIC stores a photo at about half the size of a JPG with similar quality — great for saving space, but newer and not understood everywhere yet.

Step by step

  1. Open the Convert image tool.
  2. Choose your HEIC file (or drag and drop).
  3. Select JPG as the output.
  4. Tap Download to save the converted photo.

Will I lose quality?

We convert at a high quality setting, so it looks the same to the eye while staying compatible everywhere. For a perfect lossless copy, convert to PNG instead.

Other formats

The same tool handles PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, PSD, SVG, AVIF and camera RAW (CR2, NEF, ARW), converting between them or to PDF.
