How to Download Facebook Videos & Reels

Facebook does not offer a save button for most videos. This guide shows the simplest way to download a Facebook video or Reel in HD as an MP4 (or pull the audio as MP3), on any device, for free — no app and no account.

Step by step

  1. Copy the video link. On the post, tap the three-dot menu or the share icon and choose Copy link. For a Reel, use Share → Copy link.
  2. Paste it on the home page. Drop the link into the box at the top.
  3. Tap Download and pick a quality — HD or SD MP4, or MP3 for the audio only.
  4. Save the file to your Downloads, Files or Photos.

Does it work with Reels and Watch?

Yes. Normal video posts, Reels and Watch clips all work, as long as the video is public.

Why can't I download private videos?

Videos in private groups or friends-only posts are not publicly accessible, so they cannot be fetched. Only public content can be downloaded.

Is it legal?

Downloading a public video for personal, offline use is generally fine, but the video belongs to its creator. Do not re-upload or sell it. See our Terms of Use.
