How to Download Twitter / X Videos

Twitter (now X) has no built-in save button for videos. This guide shows the simplest way to download an X video in HD as an MP4 (or pull the audio as MP3), on any device, for free.

Step by step

  1. Copy the tweet link. Tap the share icon on the post and choose Copy link, or copy the URL from your browser.
  2. Paste it on the home page. Drop the link into the box at the top.
  3. Tap Download and pick a quality — 1080p, 720p or 360p MP4, or MP3 for the audio.
  4. Save the file to your Downloads, Files or Photos.

Does it work with x.com and twitter.com links?

Yes. Both the new x.com and old twitter.com links work, including short mobile links.

Can I get just the audio?

Yes — choose MP3 to keep only the sound, handy for saving a clip's audio or background music.

Is it legal?
